Fat Transfer

Since the mid-1990s, Dr. Martini has been on the cutting edge of fat transfer procedures. As the technology has matured, so have Dr. Martini's techniques, which he continues to refine. Dr. Martini takes an artistic approach to his fat transfers to achieve the most natural look for each patient. As a complement to facelift and eyelid lift procedures, Dr. Martini will frequently include fat grafting in both initial rejuvenation surgery and revisions of previous work performed elsewhere.

"Fat transfers give a more natural look to rejuvenation. It can fill in hollows such as in the temples and under the eyes, the sunken jawline or cheeks. I can minimize the nasolabial folds and jowls and restore youthful lips," Dr. Martini explains. "It restores volume and the soft, subtle shapes of youth."

The fat transfer procedure takes fat from areas of the body where it is traditionally unwanted, such as the abdomen, waist, hips, and inner and outer thighs. The fat is then cleaned, and prepped for transfer to targeted areas of the body including those areas of the face previously mentioned. Fat can also be successfully transfered to the hands, breasts or buttocks, depending on the patient's desires. Because the fat comes from the patient, it is fully bio-compatible. It looks and feels natural, and even helps spur rejuvenation in the injection sites.

"It is believed that the stem cells in the adipose (fat) tissue secrete growth hormone-like substances and growth factors which build collagen and smooth and firm the overlying skin," says Dr. Martini. "My full face fat rejuvenation – the Liquid Facelift – addresses all areas of the face with volume loss for a softening of the features of aging and enhancement of the overlying skin."

These innovative fat transfer techniques can be a stand-alone procedure, or performed in concert with a facelift or eyelid lift. In your 20s, skin is generally free of the signs of aging. Start a medically supervised treatment plan now to protect your skin from the harmful effects of the sun and environment.

Proper cleansing, moisturizing, and use of a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily will help ward off early wrinkles and enlarged pores. Mild peels and topical treatments may help control acne. BOTOX® injections can prevent lines and filler agents such as Radiesse®, Restylane®, and Juvéderm® can be used to fill out smile lines and augment lips.

Some features of a young man's or young woman's body may be disagreeable to them or cause them to be self conscious. Reshaping of the nose(rhinoplasty) or ears(otoplasty) to a more appropriate or pleasing contour can be a real source of satisfaction and a confidence builder.

Despite exercise and diet, stubborn fat deposits can persist, even in your 20s. Fortunately, liposuction is a very effective technique to achieve the desired contour.

Decreased firmness and skin elasticity are a natural part of aging. Introducing anti-oxidants into your skincare routine can help prevent sun damage that leads to lines and age spots. Also, alpha hydroxy acids in conjunction with retinoids and topical antioxidants can restore a youthful appearance to the skin.

Non-invasive laser procedures may improve fine lines, brown spots, and broken blood vessels. BOTOX® injections can diminish laugh lines and create a smoother forehead. Fillers like Radiesse®, Restylane®, and Juvéderm® can be used to fill smile lines and augment lips.

For those in their 40s, damage caused by sun exposure becomes apparent. More aggressive skincare can help combat the visible signs of aging. A combination of topical solutions like tretinoin (Retin-A), AHAs, and BHAs, along with microdermabrasion brings the best results.

There are many procedures available to smooth and tighten skin. Photofacials, chemical peels, and topical treatments are effective in decreasing the signs of aging as well as minimizing pore size. Fillers like Radiesse®, Restylane®, and Juvéderm® can help restore volume in the mid-face and fill smile lines. For upper face and forehead lines, Botox® injections may be in order.

The 40s are a pivotal age. You can defy aging by combining several small procedures that add up to big changes. These include eyelid lift(blepharoplasty) combined with filler to reverse early facial aging, and minimal recovery laser resurfacing to address skin tone.

By age fifty, regular skin examinations by a physician experienced in skin cancer detection and treatment are essential.

Maintaining natural moisture is more difficult. Peels and light therapy in combination with ultra-hydrating home care can help maintain the balance. Laser resurfacing combined with fillers to restore volume can provide an impressive non-surgical rejuvenation.

Surgical rejuvenation can achieve dramatic results. Many patients can receive their optimal outcome with the rapid recovery facelift. Combined with blepharoplasty and skin care, the results can make you look as good on the outside as you feel on the inside. Patients with more advanced aging may benefit from our maximal rejuvenation surgical techniques.
