Fat Transfer
Since the mid-1990s, Dr. Martini has been on the cutting edge of fat transfer procedures. As the technology has matured, so have Dr. Martini's techniques, which he continues to refine. Dr. Martini takes an artistic approach to his fat transfers to achieve the most natural look for each patient. As a complement to facelift and eyelid lift procedures, Dr. Martini will frequently include fat grafting in both initial rejuvenation surgery and revisions of previous work performed elsewhere.
"Fat transfers give a more natural look to rejuvenation. It can fill in hollows such as in the temples and under the eyes, the sunken jawline or cheeks. I can minimize the nasolabial folds and jowls and restore youthful lips," Dr. Martini explains. "It restores volume and the soft, subtle shapes of youth."
The fat transfer procedure takes fat from areas of the body where it is traditionally unwanted, such as the abdomen, waist, hips, and inner and outer thighs. The fat is then cleaned, and prepped for transfer to targeted areas of the body including those areas of the face previously mentioned. Fat can also be successfully transfered to the hands, breasts or buttocks, depending on the patient's desires. Because the fat comes from the patient, it is fully bio-compatible. It looks and feels natural, and even helps spur rejuvenation in the injection sites.

"It is believed that the stem cells in the adipose (fat) tissue secrete growth hormone-like substances and growth factors which build collagen and smooth and firm the overlying skin," says Dr. Martini. "My full face fat rejuvenation – the Liquid Facelift – addresses all areas of the face with volume loss for a softening of the features of aging and enhancement of the overlying skin."
These innovative fat transfer techniques can be a stand-alone procedure, or performed in concert with a facelift or eyelid lift.
